I remember talking with other devs 20+ years ago about micropayments (as in transactions that were only a few cents in game) in web games and the thing we all decided on was that because of transaction fees we had to sell bundles of in game currency for higher prices. It's still technically better for devs because we get the entire amount of money all at once. But fostering a technology like Web Monetization is worth it... the trouble is convincing enough users to adopt it. Certainly exclusive and highly desirable incentives are the way, and games are a good platform for that. I think as far as monetization goes WM can't replace normal IAPs, but it can be a secondary stream with potential to grow. If a single highly popular killer webgame implemented it in a way that gave a super strong incentive to use it that would certainly boost adoption. Another way obviously is through adult content (which besides games was a major driving force in most of the technology that powers the net), gaining access to content or just getting access to some exclusive things on some popular services may work, but of course in that way there is more landmines.

PayPal has micropayments in the sense that if you send $0.35 or less PayPal takes 100% of the transaction in fees...

Pretty clear why legacy payment processor like Master Card invested into Blockstream to cripple Bitcoin into not scaling. They ll lose all high fees on their business

You can probably edit out the bullshit with the dictionary and stick right to what it means to bankers and existing tip jars, for your tip jar service.
