My impression after listening thru AKG K712 pro headphones:

LP6 sounds more neutral and has more clarity in the mids. Focal has too much highs in relation to its mids which takes away from the mid clarity. When switching from Focal to LP6, the latter sounds more muddy due to this reason.

LP6 sounds more even from low to highs, producing all frequencies with relatively equal importance . In retro wave, you can feel the mid range instruments much better on the LP6 but when switching to Focal it loses out on that power due to its emphasis on the highs. This takes away from the overall listening experience. I also think it can be a bit tiring after a long mixing session.

I would call the LP6 a clear winner here for casual listening and mixing. I think this is a really well balanced monitor and nothing beats it in its price range as far as I know. [Presonus XT comes close]

I worked on both, and i bought the Focals Evo 65, and i´m so happy with it, all Song sounds different and gives you a honest perspektiv of the Mix, and the Focals looks Sexy

I'd lke to hear the Focus Alpha 50 or 65 with the treble control turned down. These monitors sound fantastic if it wasn't for the over brightness.

no disrespect to DSAudio for al his work here, but you cannot possibly make a decision on speaker comparisons purely off YT. With that said I've listened to Kali's vs Focal EVO and there is a huge difference in person. Also there is something about the Focal's staging and sweet spot that is unreal compared to most "studio monitors" in its price range. I ended up opting for Focal 65 EVO after months of research and trying out a few different monitors and the EVO's continue to impress.

The Focal's no doubt! The depth, clarity, and transparency. Very well balanced, but not over-aggressive. The Kali's sound like they are sonically covered in a silk blanket. They sound good for what they are; and perhaps its a preference thing.... But I know with the IN-8's I had, I missed things in mixes that I wouldn't have on other monitors.

Focal have a stronger upper treble (around cymbals) than the Kali, but that's reflected in the graphs. Kali are $160 US less expensive per speaker than the Focal. From a youtube armchair, you can't go wrong with the Kali.

I wonder if the mid range on the Focal Evo's would improve/become unmasked by the highs, if someone used the HF EQ settings on the back of the Focal Evo's (they are set at 4.5Khz if i'm not mistaken).

Kali is better, becasue they are more detailed. I hear clearly every intrument. In Focals not, becasue this sharp highs covers the rest.
