Don't forget that Canada now has a LAND border with Denmark, on Hans Island in between Ellesmere and Greenland. This was finally settled just recently. The story of the "Whiskey War" between Canada and Denmark is worth telling.

One of the most isolated regions for human habitation, nice video!

Saying the archipelago was of no historical significance before the british arrived is wild. The Pre-Dorset people settled Baffin Island at least 5000 years ago, followed by the Dorset, followed by the Thule, followed by the Inuit. All of these groups had/have rich traditions and cultures.

Not to be rude, just a little correction, when you circled Baffin, Victoria and Ellesmere Island at 3:58, you also circled Bylot, Stefansson and Axel Heiberg Islands along with them. No hate, I love your channel!

You didn't mention Muskox the largest and coolest artic animal found on almost all the islands.

Although it is true to say it has little infrastructure, that is only by comparison, I live in iqaluit Although I'm not from here, I can say that there are grocery stores, bars restaurants a great hospital beautiful architecture and more, it has way more than alot cities of this population its not barren and there are many wonderful intelligent people here from all over, it's definitely worth visiting if you get the chance

If one travels just to the opposite side of the North Pole it could be argued that Canada in a sense has a border with Russia as well ( although not quite as contiguous as with the nations mentioned ). I think you folks would do well to charge transit fees for the NW passage ( don't let us in the US bully or schmooze our way out of it ). With substantial regulatory oversight, it might be a good thing to tap into the mineral and petroleum resources that abound there

Great info share! 👍
Great points on Canada needing to beef up our northern border.

Sir, @ 4:00 Ellesmere Island is marked incorrectly...the marking includes Axel Heiberg which is not part of Ellesmere Island

I literally just said The Canadian Arctic Archipelago and then realized that’s the video title too lmao I was looking at the thumbnail when I said that.

Canada should increase its military and commercial presence in the Artic to protect its territory and national interests,

Very interesting and informative. Just a pity you use odd American pronunciation of the word "route" as "rout".
