I too like the kicks from 2007 - 2010 generally better than today, I don't think the hardstyle kicks develop in a good way. Especially not a fan of Isaac's new kicks, the DBSTF "Rebel", TNT - Ocean, that kinda kicks, I actually hate those kicks, too much crispy & high frequencies in it and hollow kick.

I honestly thought the DBSTF "Rebel" kick was one of the best kicks ever engineered. It's interesting to see different stand points. I am not a fan of hearing the same productions over or the same types of melodies or kicks over and over. Currently I'm not liking the same kicks that Headhunterz uses in his latest tracks. But you have some value to what you say, and the guy up there said it right... middle ground is good. The DBSFT drop for Anger was something hard but one of my favourites too!

2009 was the year of the BEST hardstyle for me...the times between the reverzebass, scratch oldschool etc, and the melodic, atmosphere, and kickdrum....magic sound. BEST YEAR
now the hardstyle took a lot of new ways...not a bad thing...let's wait another time and the results will go on our ears just like happened years ago :)
