Talking about all the crimes Germans commited in the 20th century but forgeting all the crimes Soviet Union commited and how it expanded it's borders is classical pro russian memory.

The first guy forgets that the Soviets/Russians co-started WWll alongside the German nazis by invading Poland in 1939. Then invaded many countries in 1939-40

Sergey, 75, tells a story of sheer nonsense. The USSR and its allies defeated Germany, not just the USSR. And Europe, which remained under the USSR's rule, suffered from socialist regimes. Ceausescu gives an example of one of the most repulsed. Moreover, the peoples "liberated" by the USSR, when trying to become independent, were punished with tanks, mass deportations, and repressions. Hundreds of thousands of people died. But Sergey calls the boot on the throat freedom.

A lot of the commentators say that Kalliningrad is a price the Germans had to pay for invading Russia. I don't disagree. But I guess that when the war in Ukraine ends, these people will also agree that it's fair if Ukraine can take a piece of Russia (let's suggest Kursk & Belgorod) as part of Ukraine. It's the price that Russia should pay for invading another country, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths, stealing thousands of children (as well as untold household appliances), utterly destroying multiple towns and communities, and turning millions of civilians into refugees.

So by these Russian's logic Ukraine gets to keep the Kursk region.

Please ask your interviewees to comment on the USSR invasion of Poland in 1939.

The russian mind never stop to fascinate me with their effortless contradictions and mental gymnastics.
"Well historically it belongs to us so well take it, no we shouldn't return that land to the historical owners. We have to follow international laws, no the international laws were a mistake and we shouldn't follow them."
They say this in a span of a few seconds, and don't recognize the absolute absurdity in that.
I just have no hope for russia, their minds are simply broken after lifetimes of newspeak and thought crimes.

They simply forget about the Molorov-Ribbentropp pact, where Sovietunion and Nazi-Germany agreed to invade Poland from each side and split it in two parts.
In other words, Sovietunion are also to blame why WW2 ever hapoened because Stalin and Hitler were friends in the beginning. They wanted to conquer Europe together, but Hitler betrayed Stalin so russia later joined the allied forces.
Its ridiculous saying that russia alone defeated Germany back then.

In the 13th century big parts of the land that is now Russia (including Moskow and St.Petersburg) belonged to the Mongols...why not return to THAT point in time? "historically our territory" is BS!

Germany was the aggressor, yes, but that's only half truth. The full truth is that BOTH Reich and USSR started the WW2 and both were military allies up until 1941. They both carved up Poland as allies. It was during WW2 when USSR annexed Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and part of Finland. And most importantly Stalin planned to hit Germany first, it just happened that Hitler hit earlier

If Sergey was a Social Sciences Teacher, then that explains a lot about the state of mind of many Russians. Königsberg was quite literally founded by German knights in 1255. Him saying it's like the situation in Crimea is absurd.

BTW, just for context - no one in their right mind in Germany wants it back.
