MAKS 2017 - Russian Knights, Su-30SM Aerobatic Team - HD 50fps
Показать описание
Another superb flight display by the Russian Knights, one of the world's best aerobatic demonstration teams, now featuring the newly introduced Su-30SM fighter jet as their flagship!
This flight was performed at Zhukovskiy (Moscow, Russia) on July 22nd 2017 for the MAKS 2017 airshow.
Background music; the well-renowned Saturn-Lyulka symphonic roarchestra composed by 12x Saturn AL-31FP (АЛ-31ФП) turbofans, a few thousand happy spectators and a russian guy on the mic.
If you haven't seen this yet, here are my best videos of the team:
The team performed an amazing show this past year at MAKS 2017, combining their usual team formation flights with duo, solo and thrust vectoring demonstrations to complement the flight performance, making it one of the most varied and complete demonstrations in the entire world!
The Russian Knights (Русские Витязи, Russkiye Vityazi, in russian) is an aerobatic demonstration team of the Russian Air Force. Originally formed on April 5, 1991 at the Kubinka Air Base as a team of six Sukhoi Su-27s, the team was the first to perform outside the Soviet Union in September 1991 when they toured the United Kingdom. The SU-27s were replaced with six Su-30M2s later on, and recently the whole team migrated again to the SU-30SM multirole fighter featuring canards, thrust vectoring and dual cockpits.
In this sense they became the second aerobatic team in the world to use thrust vectoring jets (first were the Russian Falcons that performed with the same aircraft as soon as 2015 and later replaced them by SU-35S). It is noteworthy as well that apart from traditional formation flight exhibition, the team is starting to introduce post-stall maneuvers that take advantage of the thrust vectoring nozzles into the solo display section of their show.
The team operates from the Kubinka air force base, west of moscow, in conjunction with the 'Strizhi' (Swifts) aerobatic team that still use MiG-29 fighter aircraft. From time to time it is possible to see both teams performing together.
