I like how both the modern and extinct animals are represented at the starting size comparison with drawn illustrations. I just feel like it further solidifies the fact that these animals were indeed just as real as any other animal today.

18 mins to 500m = 500m down and 500m up in 18 mins = 18 min/ 1000m = 3.4 km/h, probably much faster to allow hunting time down there.
