Kamikaze" was the name given to the pilots of Japanese planes who, carrying explosives, carried out suicide attacks against ships, mainly aircraft carriers, of the Allies, especially the Americans. Most of the Kamikaze attacks occurred in 1944, or that is, in the last moments of the Pacific Campaign in the Second World War.
