What if Chopin played stride piano? (transcription)

I recently came across this marvelous pianist and was immediately stunned by his playing. In this recording, Johnny Guarnieri arranges Chopin's waltz in C# minor Op.64 No.2 in the stride piano style. I fear I might go down the stride piano rabbit hole. I hope you'll enjoy it!

The notes that you see in parenthesis ”( )” are either notes I'm not sure were played or some personal additions.

This is FANTASTIC!!! Terrific syncopation, excellent clean technique, great touch and dynamics, and tremendously exciting.
I hear now why Johnny Guarnieri is one of the legends.
Incidentally one of his proteges is still active: the great Jim Turner in Southern California.
Another phenomenal artist whose work you should know.

Also, this is a really hard key in which to improvise this freely, unless you've practiced PROPERLY
(putting everything you learn into every key, so you become fluent in all the keys).
I never practiced properly- so... 😬

I love it. However, I don't think Chopin would. He got cross with Franz Liszt when Liszt messed around with one of Chopin's pieces. This stride piano video was excellent. I wish Chopin could hear it.

Do you happen to know what JOHNNY G album this is from? I read somewhere that he plays a stride version of Paganini on the same album. However, I don't know the album name. Thanks!
