Personally I don't see Mascot Horror as an actual genre, more or less as a nickname if anything.
(And to back it up further, if you search up the Horror Movie "Willy's Wonderland", which you can probably guess by the name alone it revolves around mascots, it hasn't got a single sign of the name "Mascot Horror" anywhere, just Horror and Thriller.)
