As COVID-19 continues to spread, communities across the country are looking for ways to help. MU Health Care currently has an adequate supply of personal protective equipment, but volunteers have stepped up to help the health system prepare in case a shortage of face masks should occur.

Volunteers are using a pattern and fabric that were first approved by infection control experts at MU Health Care. Columbia businesses helped secure materials, like elastic and wire. Now, a team from the health system is putting together sewing kits with the supplies, and they’re using a drive-thru system to distribute the kits to volunteers.
