The New MPK Mini Plus Some Opinions

MPK Mini Plus is AKAI's new portable MIDI Controller with a few interesting quirks. Unlike the MPK Mini MK3 or Play. It has 37 keys, pitch & mod wheel, CV/gate, full sized 5 pin MIDI DIN in & out, transport buttons, built-in scale/chords, thicker MPC pads, and a built-in sequencer (with step editing and live recording too)! Between all three, you can see there's more connectivity on the MPK Mini Plus!

The expanded workflow is is more than welcomed. Especially working with modular and hardware gear (though, I notice having it plugged up via USB to the computer disables it. Which might be solved on a the official release date!). My only other complaint is minor. It would of been nice to see the new MPC chord progressions natively installed but hopefully AKAI will take that criticism with a grain of salt. Overall, in comparison to other portable MIDI controller. This baby is on top of the world! Not to mention, it gives a lot of bigger MIDI controllers a run for their money too.

I've had mine for a year and absolutely love this thing! With MPC BEATS DAW program it's insane what you can do with this wonderful MIDI controller.

I've always had an ear for "the beat first" then the lyrics, which lead to my fascination of gifted and blessed producers such as yourself, PeteRock, Premo, Dre, Large Pro, Q-Tip, Havoc, Freddie Joachim, Nicolay. How you can take a sound that's in your head, form it and then arrange it into a head bobin banger beat/song/production is AMAZING and I want to learn how to bring the gift I believe I have in me my out! I believe I have calling to do this but I need help. I have the MPK Mini+ Do you have any advise on how to go about learning all the "ends and outs" of the devise? Not sure if that's the right question or not but ANY reply from you would be greatly appreciated brother! Also, Im interested in getting the MPC One Plus to combine with the MPK Mini. Honestly... the scale/chord/chorus modes alone have me sold.... plus, the size even down to the number of keys is perfect (for my setup).

Best controller with the technically advanced basic features in the last 10 years. Scales and chords with inversions is all you need on a modern keyboard controller, when you’re talking about Akai innovation; Akai is the first to have this feature.

I wish we could say that Akai put the time in, so that when you plug the MPK Mini Plus into an MPC, all the functions map out to a template, automatically.

It's something between backpack and studio usage. I wish they put the sequencer into the Mini Play.

If you buy this they'll just update it in 6 months, I should have bought the arturia key station years ago instead of mk3.it's not even worth selling it anymore because they are worthless.
But I do love this channel and the hard work that is put into it.

Great review of this your videos are always on point man my only problem i ever had with this midi keyboard has always been the keys they feel stiff and dont feel as good as the keys on the Arturia Midi Keyboards if there was a way they can make the keys that type of quality this would be a master piece but its still good though
