he noticed that it was all very still, calm and quite like Sunday morning while other days it used to be great hustle and bustle. the sound could be heard out in the street. the opening and closing of desks, lessons repeated in unison very loud and the teacher's great ruler rapping on the table made a great noise. but on that day the whole school looked so strange and solemn. it was quite unusual and surprising.
