I have painted the decramastc tiles myself and while it does use more paint I have found it is a good way of preserving the roof after water blasting. The big problem on my roof was the lichen so I had to spray the lichen and once it died, I had to water bast it off. I don’t particularly like the chip and would prefer a painted decramastic tile roof even though they are more slippery. They seem to rust heavily around the edges so I am replacing these tiles. If you remove any tiles check the underside and wire brush off any surface rust and then paint the underside with a primer as it will prolong the roof. Removing dents is easier said than done as you can easily tear the building paper underneath. It is better if the tile is badly dented to take it right out, take the dents out but they are a bit of a fiddle to get back in again.
