Is this game really worth it? I’m not usually a fan of games that have a ton of the game being cutscenes and parts where you’re locked from moving or doing anything. Gameplay comes first and foremost to me. Is there enough good gameplay content to justify sitting through so much stuff?

5 things you need to know: (1) there are PS3 games with better graphics, (2) even with the bad graphics the frame rate is choppy, (3) mountains of filler content which is why it's dozens of hours longer than it needs to be, (4) the vast majority of the dialogue isn't voice acted, (5) the storytelling is typical Japanese convolution.
