Vaccination may have opened up to 16-year-olds, but the government is still facing a problem with lack of vaccine uptake in younger age groups. In an attempt to woo twenty-somethings (after telling them they’ll be banned from nightclubs and maybe their university lectures too) the government is promising discounts with Uber and Deliveroo as bribes for getting vaccinated. Will it work?

Cindy is joined by Rory Sutherland, The Spectator’s Wikiman columnist and vice chairman at the advertising agency Ogilvy.

One point to make is that we're supposed to be a democracy, the government attempting to manipulate our opinions is fundamentally subverting that when it hasn't been given a mandate to do so.

His point about masks v Vietnam is only valid if masks work. But they don’t. See the only valid Covid period study, the one from Denmark. But also see the pre-covid research on masks and respiratory diseases. Even research on masks during surgery and in the dentist’s chair shows they make no difference. Check it yourself - which this man, unprofessionally, seems not to have done.

Sutherland is morally corrupt and dreadful and the presenter is woeful. He seems to have no issue with manipulation, bribery and compulsion. Worse she just giggles and fails to challenge him. Expect better from the Spectator!

Where was the option given to people to not use fossil fuels to power their house or transport given that awareness of the harm done to the environment and our lungs for some 50 years now, albeit hidden from the publics' awareness through apparent ignorance by msm and politicians whether knowing ly or not. ?
