He wasn't being a diva. According to an article called "Why Maybach Didnt Reach it Potential". A magazine called Tropical Uk. It stated Rick still owed two albums to DeF Jam as an artist. He lost Omarion, Stalley, his only female Teedra Moses, and Whiz Khalifa was waiting to be signed but Rick was over budget. So he couldn't sign Whiz. Meek Mill and Wale were beefing. He got stressed and started having seizures. Things fell apart for him business and health wise. Atleast that their perspective on what happened 💪💪

It's a shame that an R&B artist has to sign to Hip Hop labels just to get some light. R&B artists used to have a lane of their own and they shined big time. Once the R&B and rap thing blended together things just took a turn for the worst.

It didn't work because neither of them had experience managing R&B artists. He was better off staying with TUG or the very least So So Def. This is what happens when your ego gets in the way.

I think it was a good idea. They just didn't make enough music with him. Maybe he need some writers for r&b. M.I.A was a real good song back then, definitely could've used him on plenty of there hooks but they flopped it
