As for the Limited Editions: They made a footnote that, because it's also just US and CA only for this LE one, they will consider doing more variants down the line in other regions as well. - They're first just launching this thing and they'll see for more editions later. - Also: The scalping is disgusting.

The discounted LCD prices after OLEDs announcement were cheaper than buying used Steam Decks in my area. Bought the 64gb model and ordered a cheap 1tb ssd to install myself.

I got a direct refurbished one from Valve for $279 for the 64GB model and upgraded my deck to 1TB for $349 total. Deck was pretty much brand new and I'm extremely happy.

For what it's worth, i ordered the limited edition like, late in the day it released, and it's arriving today, so that's pretty damn good turnaround (east coast us, since it probably matters)

As much as I'd love the better screen and battery, I'm happy enough with the original that I can't justify the expense without a decent performance boost too. Maybe when the 2 comes along in the future ;)

Got my oled deck yesterday. I love it. I have a 64gb LCD to find a new home for. It is also, "Adult owned." 😅

I'm super impressed at how Valve got HDR working on it considering SteamOS is based off of Arch Linux where HDR doesn't really work at all on Linux normally with out some crazy hacking of the system with limited functionality

As fellow first time buyer I ordered a OLED 512GB and 2TB SSD off AliExpress for $155 shipped (CAD).
I was 10 minutes from ordering a 64gb refurbished LCD model for $350CAD when they updated the page and announced the OLED models.


I still think refurbished base model 64gb is a good deal to take advantage of current cheaper SSD prices, but OLED model with all the little improvements is worth MSRP cost imo.

I didn't have a steam deck already, but I had a ton of money on steam from selling skins that went up in price(mainly counter strike cases) so I decided to pick up the LE model. Because of how much I still had on steam, I only paid like $250 CAD with my bank card. I don't know if I would've picked up a steam deck if I didn't already have money on steam though.

I got the refurbished 512gb lcd for €370 right from steam. A really good price for as good as new quality.

My friend bought a used 1TB modded LCD steam deck in perfect condition for 450 Canadian dollars now that the OLED came out, he has no regrets. I've had one since the deck came out and I love it just as much today as I did back then
