D&D Digital - Official First Look at New Virtual Tabletop

This year's D&D Direct unveiled the new immersive virtual tabletop experience, D&D Digital Play Experience, presented by Wizards of the Coast. 

With stunning visuals and diverse creation tools, the D&D Digital Play experience will give players and Dungeon Masters a new way to fully sink into their campaign. Perfect for connecting DM’s and players online or in real life. 

This first look has Gina Darling, Ify Nwadiwe, and Principal Game Designer Kale Stutzman, showcasing their first impressions and insights into the game.

Looks exactly like talespire, which comes with free updates, HeroForge integration, and great tilesets with varying themes...all done by an indie dev team...

Have to imagine this will be high-polish, low-flexibility. Probably perfect for groups that mainly play 5e modules (and can afford whatever price-tag WotC decides on)

Great idea, but its really gonna rise or fall with how much you can customize everything.

The question is, how does this hold up to table top simulator, and is the DM able to make homebrew monsters, or import 3rd party models / maps?

This looks like a watered down version of other 3D Virtual Tabletops out there. It looks like Unreal Assets being moved around in the Engine with some effects.
