"Annexing more land from Ukraine was never the main goal of the invasion". Is that the opinion of your "military experts" at the LA Times? It obviously was the main goal, you do not launch a conventional style land war if it isn't. More land equals more Russian influence, the gas reserves and wheat fields of Ukraine, and more population under Moscow's control, did that not seem obvious to the "experts" you consulted or do you just leaf through Mad Magazine plus the Onion before weighing in on military matters?

The question is can Russia afford to stay in Ukraine?? Russia is stronger sure but if the Ukraine government and its people continue to resist it’ll be a matter of time before the financial burden on Russia will be too much.
