Показать описание
Passio Musicae Open Source is an interactive audio
installation and sonification of the Sibelius Monument
in Helsinki, Finland.
Visitors can explore the sounds by moving around
in the space.
The sounds are generated from the actual physical
dimensions of the 569 steel tubes of the original
monument.
Sibelius Monument was created by sculptor
Eila Hiltunen in 1967
The project culminated in a collaboration between
German sculptor Lukas Kühne and the Finnish art
universities. By holding workshops at the University
of the Art’s Academy of Fine Arts, Sibelius Academy
and the Aalto University’s Media Lab Helsinki, they
created the final work exhibited in the The National
Art Gallery of Finland, Ateneum Art Museum.
PMOS Artists:
Lukas Kühne, Matti Niinimäki, Karina Jensen,
Ava Grayson, Jairo Acosta Lara, Narim Lee,
Sébastien Piquemal, Taavi Varm, Pirkka Åman.
This video documents parts of a performance by Finnish
dancers Panu Varstala and Eero Vesterinen playing the
sound installation on March 22nd, 2015 at the National
