My goal is to take you to the real food places in Barcelona so when you visit, you don’t get caught in the ‘tourist trap’ restaurants.
So today, I’m taking you to 5 Tapas places which I think everyone must visit when they visit Barcelona.

1) Quimet Quimet
Founded in 1914, the Quimet & Quimet is one of the best-known tapas bars in Barcelona.
It has the perfect atmosphere for a quick snack & a drink. The walls are filled with hundreds of wine bottles and they make some really good beer & vermut.
They are specialists in can preserves, so all the dishes are served cold. That’s their hallmark and what makes them unique.
You can look at the menu and order what you like or let the waiter advise you and you will surely be surprised.

2) La Cova Fumada
La Cova Fumada, a tapas bar where the famous Bomba was invented.
There’s no name in front of this beloved local joint, so how do you find it? Just come to the market square of Barceloneta and head to the place with the longest line outside.
Opened in 1944, La Cova Fumada preserves the essence of Barceloneta, an old fishing district and if you love sea food, there’s never a lack of fresh fish on the menu.

3) Bar del pla
Tucked away in the gorgeous alleys of El Born is our next and one of my all time favourite Tapas place - Bar del pla.
They use high quality fresh local ingredients and make traditional tapas like canelloni, papatas bravas, fried peppers, pulpo etc
But they also make fusion tapas like suckling pig tacos, mushroom carpaccio with wasabi and so much more.
They have a wide variety of natural wines which are very different to the conventional wines but if you’re open to trying new things, you should try some of their natural wines and you might be pleasant surprised.

4) El Xampanyet
Let’s continue our tapas adventure in yet another local favourite, El Xampanyet.
A cozy yet buzzing bar offering traditional tapas, Cava and wine.
It’s a perfect place for a midday snack, late lunch or the first place before a big night out.

Barcelona one of my favorite places for food including Tokyo, Tuscany & Istanbul.
Love El Xampanyet especially their steak and peppers, chorizo tortilla and their in house Xampanyet.. Easy to drink u can order the whole Good to see it is still operating.
It was kind of sad hearing genius Albert Adria closed many of his restaurant including Tickets... Hope he makes a strong come back one day.
