Those tools made for the oil filters are only made to loosen them. If you use them to tighten you have a high chance of damaging the filter and after a little while it will crack and leak oil, which is something you do not want. Also, never tighten a oil filter with a impact, that will way over tighten it, worst case you ruin the threads to where the filter screws on.

i never new oil filters were so hard to take off that they made a tool for it i never had a problem they always came off super easy

Most of these tools are the "As Seen On TV" tools that my in-laws think would be a great birthday gift for me. No thanks. Also, using a power tool to tighten an oil filter, not a great idea.

0:38 That isn't needed if you actually follow the filter instructions and not crank it on as hard as possible. Most are only supposed to be turned like 3/4 of a turn. I've never had one that I can't remove bare handed. Don't be an idiot.
