I just received this Kaiweets 601s. Love it! Built a workshop, uses 10 more meters and a scope, My clamp meter is also a Kaiweets, model HT208D a clamp meter that ROCKS! I use these for R&D work and it keeps up with me. I got to trust Kaiweets. No worries, I don't work for them. I had a multimeter that would not give me adequate frequency at anything above 600 Hz. Fortunately, my scope told me the real story. The Kaiweets was much closer. Great review todderbert. Cheers!

Just bought the KM601s from Amazon UK (40 GBP) which has the same spec as the KM601 (except the lowest resistance range on the non 's' is not present on the 's') but with improvements against a number of the criticisms aimed at the non 's' version, e.g. test probe ports are on the front rather than the bottom edge, there's only one button on the edge of the device (on/off) as opposed to buttons on 3 edges of the non 's' version, and there is a fold-out stand on the 's'. Finally, the 'Auto/Func' button is a rocker switch allowing manual selection to go forward AND backward whereas on the non 's' version that button is a simple press and you need to cycle through the different functions (so if you over-press, you have to go all the way around back to the begining). Nice touches from Kaiweets.

After having it for some time, I found 2 issues. One is low sensitive NCV (which can be improved by extending its antenna with a piece of metal foil). Second is mA measurement could be easily inaccurate in electromagnetic interference(so should keep away from those disturbing devices).

To get the back off remove the screws and the fuses. I think you will find the batteries are replaceable once you get the back off.

A very fast continuity tester is important for a good measuring device. My Kaiweet 601 is absolutely terrible for troubleshooting and is completely useless because it reacts very slowly. And this one, the 601S model, also reacts extremely slowly. It's a shame, they would be really cool little devices.

Is it possible to turn off the automatic power off feature on km601s ? i know km601 is possible but i dont see this option on km601s manual. Also when the turn off feature is disabled, you must use it or press a button to keep it on or will it turn off even if automatic turn off is disabled when not using it at all?

I was looking at the "Features that could be Added or Improved on:" and noted the battery can be replaced. Does the battery have a standard connector or is it something different. I wasn't going to purchase the product if the battery wasn't replaceable. Thanks

Why does no one ever test the temp function

Seems to be a decent meter until you try and us it outside in sunlight. Impossible to see the screen on even a overcast day.

This multimeter is very difficult to use outdoors (due to its display) and the battery will be damaged in a few years, so what to do?
