This is part 2 of my sports betting explained series. Today we are looking at the 3 most popular sports bets available: spread, moneyline and over under or totals.

So what is a moneyline bet? its a bet on whether your team will win or not. Does not matter if its 1 or 20 points

What is a spread bet? If you pick the favorite, denoted by the minus sign (-) then your team needs to win by more than that number. if they win by EXACTLY that amount then its a push and you just get your money back. If its an underdog, denoted by (+) then if your team wins the game or loses by less than that number, you win! again losing my exactly that amount results in a push.

What is the over/under bet? If you the combined score from both teams is over or under that amount. you will win or lose. So if the final score is 20 to 10, then the combined total is 30. So if you took the UNDER on the bet total of 50 you would win but the OVER would lose.
