Vanishing Languages and Cultural Heritage (VLACH) ID-number: timo1262RSV00010a

Description:
Ljubisav Dinić narrates about the traditional manufacturing of the alphorn. In the past, the means of communicating a gathering or an event greatly differed from those today. Circles of older women and young girls knitting or other get-togethers were announced through the unique song of the alphorn, which also used to reveal the location the meeting would take place at. Unfortunately, nowadays we are lacking musicians to play this instrument as well as instrument makers. Ljubislav is the last alphorn maker still living in the village who learned from his ancestors how to build it.
