You have to love the cool vintage two-strokes you will see in Man Cup’s Super Eliminator class. Here Eric Thomas of Pittsburgh, Pa. tries to get his awesome no-bar 1973 Kawasaki H1 500 to go another round with an emergency, “McGyver”-like wire job on the air shifter, as he opposes the beautiful 1972 Kawasaki H2 750 dragbike of David Derrick of Vicksburg, Mich.

My uncle has this in 100% original and standard form, 120mph any day of the week. Beautiful 500cc buzz saw.👍👍👌

When I was a kid I worked all summer to buy a little 2 cycle dirt bike from Sears. It looked like a 250 scrambler but was only 60cc.
All my friends had Honda 90s and 125s. They laughed at me and said my bike was a toy.
We lived close to an old mine dump. I said let's go climb that mine dump. They laughed and said you want us to help you carry it up there?
We lined up st the bottom and counted. I was at the top and turned around waiting for them. They had more power 4 strokes, but my bike was about 60lb lighter than theirs with a 2 stroke.
They never laughed at me again!

I had a 400 to start and that little guy was a bad ass till about 100MPH, then I bought a 750 and never got on it like any other bike I had, RESPECT and fear

My first motorcycle. Frame had a lot of flex. It could get to triple digits fast as you dared. Looked at front tire contact with the pavement at 106 mph...just skittering along barely touching pavement. I survived Houston Texas on that ride...speaks a lot for speed and quickness.

My Mach III was yellow with metallic brown. It was gorgeous. I have never loved another bike, truck, or car as much as I loved that H1. I can still hear its scream.

Makes me miss my '67 Yamaha YR-1. Fully stripped & 3/4 fairing, ducktail seat, internal spring forks, braced swingarm, fully ported barrels/notched pistons, shaved heads, bigger Mikunis, chambers, clipons.
What fun when you're only 17 & weigh 132 lbs!😁
Had a couple of Suzuki 500 Titans too! Love that sound!

I owned a 1969 #507 years ago but some stole it from me. I still dream of riding it.
