What do we know about the disappearance of Jay Slater?

The 19-year-old sparked a huge search effort after disappearing on the Spanish island of Tenerife following a night out with friends.

No Sky, the unanswered questions are:
Why did he go back to a remote AirBnB with a convicted drug dealer at 6am?
Why did he flee that location after less than 90 mins?
Why was he said to be fearful and unwilling to stay in that area, either for a bus or water, despite being thirsty?
Why did he travel in the opposite direction to where he wanted to go, and why did he go off road and not turn back when the route got dangerous?
Did the two men at the AirBnB have anything to do with instigating Jay's behaviour leading to his unfortunate death?
Did they attack or threaten him, or did they supply him with substances that made him paranoid?
If these individuals had involvement, should they not be held to account, either in the criminal court or at least in the court of public opinion?
If these individuals were involved, will they not go back to their activities and could another young man end up in the same situation in the future?

I still cannot comprehend if the zone was 'inaccesible', why would anyone attempt walking through it. Surely there would be little or no paths or routes to get through that area.

He had been out drinking, as far as we know he had no bottled water with him, his phone's battery life was down to 1% he was staggering across rough, rocky terrain which even for those who are much better prepared is quite difficult especially as the heat is gradually building up as the day progresses towards lunchtime.

The extreme heat and dehydration may have meant that he wasn't really thinking straight.

He was certainly taking unnecessary risks and not really thinking about what he was doing.

What a sad way to go.

I am sure that his parents must have suspected that something like this must have happened but it doesn't really make things any easier for them.

I wasn't there, I didn't see .... 🙄 However, the guy at the b&b said Jay went to get cigarettes, but private detective said he left scared ... friend said he was trying to get back and decided to walk with 1% on his phone .... If he went to the bus stop, he had means to pay, why not walk on the road and flag down a bus or car? why go off path? ohhh so much hype in the media, what can we trust is real? ...he sounds like he made a few reckless decisions in life, but ... he was young, popular and trying to learn a trade to set himself up. We have all made mistakes in one way or another. Poor boy, may he RIP and his family repair from this trauma 🙏 ... at least he has been found.

He was off his nut, went walkabout, got lost, got hurt and dead!

Spanish police are not releasing all details yet.
When asked about the stolen watch (which many think refers to drugs) the police said they are not saying anything else at this moment

Can't say I'm surprised, but people should be grateful he's been found at all. All too often in these sorts of situations people vanish and are never recovered.

I think it's unbelievable that it takes a month to find a body within a 600 m radius.

Cadaver dogs, drones, imaging etc. Are we really so inept after all our technological advances?

The Masca valley is extremely rugged terrain. The map suggests he was heading in completely the opposite direction. But on the twisting narrow road into the valley there is no room for walkers at the side of the road. There are Crows flying in the valley, that might have suggested where a body was lying.
