SIMPLE pulse extenders for Minecraft 1.20

Today I will be explaining how to make pulse extenders and how they work in Minecraft 1.16 and 1.16.5 plus 1.19. They are a Redstone circuit used in piston doors tree farms and more. Mumbo jumbo uses them in his Redstone videos to make vault doors and they are used on hermitcraft season 7.

SIMPLE pulse extenders for Minecraft 1.18

PE stands for pulse extender
Stone button: 20 game ticks, 1 second, 10 redstone ticks
wooden button: 30 game ticks, 1.5 seconds, 15 redstone ticks
PE1: 12 game ticks, 0.6 seconds, 6 redstone ticks
PE2: 32 game ticks, 1.6 seconds, 16 redstone ticks
PE3: 64 game ticks, 3.2 seconds, 32 redstone ticks
PE4: 160 game ticks, 8 seconds, 80 redstone ticks
PE5: 240 game ticks, 12 seconds, 120 redstone ticks
ToggleablePE:
Equation = 16N-14=G
N = number of items inside hopper
G = game ticks
convert game ticks into seconds by dividing by 20
Item despawn 1: 6064 game ticks, 303.2 seconds or 5 mins, 3032 redstone ticks
Item despawn 2: 1230 game ticks, 61.5 seconds or 1 min, 615 redstone ticks

The hopper clock was originally designed by Etho, hence it is usually called the etho clock.

Perfect for extending the calibrated sculk sensor’s pulse! Thanks!

Thank you for showing how simple pulse extenders can be!

I see some confusion to as why someone wouldn't just use a repeater, repeaters don't extend the pulse they produce a pulse of 1 to 4 ticks so if the power source turns on and then off, you will just get a single pulse through the system of repeaters. but the pulse extenders keep the power on the entire time they are being used so if you have a system that you can only take the output of an observer out you can use a pulse extender to convert it into a pulse that is powered for a designated amount of time instead of just getting that 1-4 tick pulse, pulse extenders could be used for something like keeping a piston extended for a long amount of time and then retract instead of toggling it on and off. I hope this makes sense and I think it is a very reasonable use of these circuits (I am by no means knowledgeable in the subject of Redstone I'm just stating something that I believe to be true)

Is there anything like that hopper clock one that works on bedrock? I need a 40 second pulse but don't want a long line of comparitors

For the second pulse extender, I was having trouble with it causing 2 outputs, so if you replace the observer with a regular block that has a timed line going into it, then it only gives one output

3:25 Why do you have to change it? You say because it wouldn't work otherwise, but why is that?

It would be nice if you set it to 2 ticks to show that the signal wouldn't have enough time to saturate all comparators before turning off. So it would blink a couple of times until the signal is fully depleted.
This also comes with a nice showcase of a pretty obscure circuit since there are times when you'd need multiple pulses at a set interval :)

One extra thing to note: The lamp has a minimum duration it'll stay on. With 4 comparators there won't be enough delay for the lamp to turn off again

thx wanted to route my smelter launch system to my bamboo farm so it refills itself when it burns fuel and my leaf observer line down kept not working because the pulse was too short. added one of these and its working wonderfully now.

Hi, I have made the temple of notch in my server and i have used a really long comparetor extender and neded 2 smaller pulse extenders of the same kinds to hold the charge long enough to completely charge the big one lmao
It actually looks kinda funny and interesting haha
.
It consist of 24×2 compartors, powered by a pony extender of 8×2 Comparators, powered by a 2nd pony
Extender of 3×2 !

Thankyou Gecko. Now my automatic farm will work without a damn button or lever.
