Tom's Take: How the Roku Ultra Beats Apple TV

Never mind that it's less expensive, the Roku Ultra streaming device beats Apple TV on so many levels. Whether it's their 4K support, more robust video selection, the fact they have Amazon Video, or the private listening feature, better search, and side loaded content. Roku simply does what Apple TV can't. And for that reason, it's our favorite steaming device.

I have both as well as an Amazon FireTV box.  They are all very good overall in their own respects and I like all of them. Find myself using Roku Ultra the most. Sometimes don't want to swipe so much with Apple remote. FireTV is great if you're a Prime member because you get access to more movies/documentaries...  Nvidia Shield probably outperforms them all and it should at it's price point but I won't know unless I find one on sale.

I love the fact that roku ultra is nearly future proof but sadly the USB port does not work for external hard drive powered by the USB. If it wasn't for the headphone jack I'd almost consider buying the streaming stick and save 60$

Apple TV needs to get itself up to scratch.

I won't buy it until it can sort through the providers properly (which includes British providers).

when will roku catch up and be more like a android BOX???? i can only do Google tv and moives which sucks ... i want of google play on the roku

That crappy Apple TV can't touch this Roku.. Roku ultra is a clear winner here. Never buying Apple crappy products. You can tell by Apple's sale nose dive recently.
