Thank you so much for these tutorials. I've been wanting to understand how to sew by hand and also by sewing machine but classes are really expensive and your videos are very helpful as I am a visual learner!

I use that technique but I hold the eye of the needle directly over the pinched loop and roll my finger and thumb to release the thread slowly. That seems to work with any sized eye. It keeps the loop tight as it passes through. Your right though, it takes practice. But if people learn good techniques like this one, they will learn so much faster and will enjoy it a lot more.
