I can’t afford horses, but I can afford Alaskan Malamutes!

The 4 of them and myself sat up and watched you & Apollo ‘s videos last night, now they are “telling” me to go out and work harder so they can have a rescue Shire or two for their own!

We have 8 good acres of hoof-gentle soil here just outside Ashland, Oregon…guess I’m going to have to build a Shire barn here now.

You and my vociferous “woofs” have spurred me into fulfilling a long held dream!


I spent summers working on my grandfather’s farm. He used either a two or four mule team for all his farming. Taught me how to farm with miles as well; come each Fall we would take them to regional country fairs for competitive-demonstration field work…lots of great stories there❤️.

Never won many “1st’s” as grandad always was more interested in caring for the mules, giving rides to children, than the competitive part, but life-long memories remain.

Apollo loves these peppermint candies...because he's such a sweet, sweet boy! She thinks so too.
(After watching the horse show in England, I'd hate to see your beautiful Apollo's locks touched. He's a free spirit and his mane and tail are what gives him flight. Hope you didn't show any of those horses a picture of Apollo...they'd be envious!)
