How to build a portfolio of index funds with Vanguard

Here we look at how to build a simple 3-fund portfolio of index funds using Vanguard and, for the more cash-rich investor, adding some more diversification by building a 5-fund portfolio of index tracker funds for a low-cost way of investing.

This is a simplified tutorial on how to build a portfolio of index funds using Vanguard.

Then there is the popular Vanguard LifeStrategy funds, which makes investing in the stock market even easier and provides a simple, well-diversified portfolio all contained within one low-cost fund. Vanguard even do the re-balancing for you.
