You're the man Matt. Seem like a straight up down to earth dude

I've done MMA for years I'm glad you said this ppl for sure have some kind of inferiority complex. No shit a body builder will lose in a fight against a MMA fighter the same way a MMA fighter would get fucking crushed like a pancake trying to squat what you do. Some ppl just are jelly man and insecure.

Powerlifter/bodybuilder: minding his own business

Insecure rando: “yeah okay but you’re not bulletproof”

Well, I'm a profesional pianist that just got into powerlifting, so you could come up to me and say that you bench more than me :D aiming for 225 this summer

My gf thought that when I said I bench 455, that I just rep that crap out. So many misconceptions about weight lifting.

Dang. Who knew someone who trains for fighting would be better at it than someone doesn't. Very insightful.

I’m a pretty avid mma fan; and that dude on the right would murder Chase Hooper in a sanctioned MMA fight.

Me with a gun: "I'm not worried about either of them"

No because most bodybuilders carry themselves with this "im the bad wolf" demeanor and for a skinny guy which is a martial artist to put him on his a** is a pretty dope thing 🙂

When you're that much larger than someone, especially when it's mostly muscle. You don't have to be too great of a fighter to overcome their skill. You can literally rag doll them. Get control of their arms and headbutt them into oblivion. The greater the size difference the less skill difference you need to beat them.

I feel like I'm on the chopping block when I have to lift something in real life. If I struggle even a little bit I get the "what's the point of lifting all them weights?" Like sorry I didn't practice lifting random shit

I think it just stems from the predisposition that an overwhelming majority of people have which is bigger muscles=scary guy

Love that matt talked about this. I see this all the time in comments under powerlifting or bodybuilding videos, bout time someone addressed the bs. It's even kinda ironic because strength obviously helps alot in fighting and a good portion of mma fighters are jacked as shit like francis ngannou, yoel Romero, Michael Chandler, alister overeem, Alain nlgani

People take it to the extreme though sometimes. If someone is 5'3 125lbs who is a fighter is against someone 6'5 250lbs. Then my money is on the big guy regardless of experience. Weight divisions exist for a reason

I once saw a huge argument on a video showing a sparring match between Prime Hafthor and Conor MacGregor.
Conor was around 150, Bjornson around 450. Yet people still argued that Conor would win even though the Mountain is 3x as heavy.

My point is that skill is a factor but so are strength and size; hence why we have weight classes.
There'a a simular video of Bryan Shaw and (I think) Gaethje. Justin didn't stand a chance.

CBum would choke out the other bloke because Chris is 100lbs+ heavier.

The reason mma/combat sports guys say this is cause all we hear is how body/power lifters would whoop anybody’s ass😂

It is also worth saying that the average person is not training to be able to be skilled enough to choke someone three times their size out. Also, that is a major misconception as well because in many situations, it doesn’t go that way as fights are not always clean and they start on their feet. If that was the case there wouldn’t be weight classes, and they would make everybody compete, purely based off of skill, but the actual amount of skill you have to have to outdo a weight class is not some thing that someone who casually works on their skills would have.

Obviously Chris would do terribly in mma in the heavyweight division, but there is absolutely no way that that tiny guy on the left could beat him in a fight. Chris has the physical capability to literally snap that guys arm in half

They make weight classes for a reason.
