Dilla was simply next level. A scientist. A genius. I nearly cried reading Dilla Time. Legendary. According to the book he added a little sample that was an ode to his daughter’s mother he added Ok Joy. Man Dilla is still missed but lives on. I love what you are doing with this channel.

Honestly, this may be the greatest beat ever produced by a human.

One of Dilla's crown jewels next to "Time (Donut of the Heart)". This one is definitely genius the way he constructed it based in the drums. We can all basically aspire to be on that level.

Matter of fact Dilla made this beat on Sp303, which is way harder to chop samples comparing to the mpc, but its live performance orientation and dillas genius way of using samples made what we hear today

Yes absolute masterpiece! This is all I wanted to hear and played when my dog died a couple weeks ago. I been listening to donuts since 2007 and I still get the same wow feeling

It’s really one of the greatest song on grief, even though it’s so simple, having only two modes (slow and fast), they mesh so well together, without loosing it’s essence.

🍩 is a masterpiece

I miss that whole Era. Dilla, Delicious Vinyl, Pharcyde, Little early to mid 90's?? Classic!

Last CD I copped outta my favorite record store. 2006. I bought it just because I knew who he was and what tracks he had under his belt like the tribe stuff and stakes is high. I didn't know he had passed on, yet and it was like around May when I purchased it. Still have it sitting on my interface and play it occasionally. Yes, don't cry stood out because of all that chopping he did. Basically massacred that track. There are a couple of videos about people remaking it. RIP Jay-Dee aka J Dilla.

Dilla's music is like a kind friend that'll help you in the lows and celebrate you in the highs. To me, the only friend one can trust. Thanks for posting this, and thanks for still replying to comments. Love ❤
