I like to think that when shaxx and Saladin think of the other they have so many negative descriptors of them and then finish it out with but there is no one I’d trust more with my life

I really liked those last few lines. With Shaxx asking Saladin if what he expects is the end, then everything Saladin said up until then was either a lie or something Saladin still didn’t believe. Shaxx’s actions was to show that the battle is lost the moment you lose hope, and if Saladin believed the end was coming, then Saladin really didn’t learn. Saladin saying what comes next is him not giving up hope, just as Shaxx wanted.
I think Saladin passing that little test is what caused Shaxx not to giving those comments lol

Shaxx:

Me, never toggling helmet off: This is the way

We need more Shaxx in the game. He's too good not to have him feature in at least ONE season.

I believe it was never about Saladin's reputation or him being disobeyed as a superior, to Saladin the City was lost against the overwhelming onslaught of the Fallen horde and the priority now is to protect the people, they built the last city, another one can be built as long as Humanity lives on, to Saladin, Shaxx's actions put the last of Humanity in direct danger, him and his fireteam going head-first into certain death would mean even less Guardians will be present to defend the people or help them escape, especially given the power, capabilities and experience of Shaxx and his fireteam members.

I love this. picturing two warlords, two of the few living beings that can even slightly compare to the guardian, sharing a moment of pure respect is such a cool interaction.

I was wondering when you’d cover this. I began reading the solstice lore tabs. Crowning Duologue struck me as rather interesting. I didn’t expect a grudge between these two to be in the lore tab. No less, resurfacing the mention of twilight gap.

As a PVP focused player it would be amazing to have a PVP mode where Shaxx, Saint and Saladin were commentating on the game, but I don’t think it would ever happen

What an incredible story... This was easily one of my favourite stories you've told... perhaps thanks to my Titan bias.
Either way it put a smile on my face.
Keep doing what you're doing, Byf. I really really appreciate it

I really hope that there's more light shed on this. I can imagine an animation of Shaxx defying Saladin's orders and leading his fireteam through hell and in the end, emerging victorious from the flames. Even showing Phylaxx knowing she had met her match on that battlefield.

This moment is good world building and hopefully we see it in game. We saw it with zavala and ana over the years and even with Rasputin.

Shaxx needs to be involved in a season and just out there stretch his legs and kick some butt. Havent seen or heard any adventures of shaxx since the red war? So it'd be cool to see him in action again.

Their’s must have been an interesting relationship given one is an Ironlord and the other still uses his Warlord title.

Unbelievable that they didn't end the grudge with a 10 hour make out scene this game is such wasted potential!

If I don’t see Shaxx headbutt the witness into a pile of goo I’m gonna be upset

Shaxx basically ignored Saladin while listening to doom music

It's good to see old hatchets get buried. Almost as good as it would be to see the undefeated Warlord Shaxx crack skulls in the final battles against the Witness...hopefully Bungie doesn't forget about him and can find the cash to get Lennie James to record some lines for Final Shape.

We need more of Shaxx involved in the lore and side by side with us. I would kill to see him pop off in Final Shape
