When you first start on the Forest Navel, I recommend clearing the way of everything and working on the Blue Pikmin. The best way I do it on the first day is
Get all your Red's out and kill all the Fiery Blowhogs so you won't have to deal with them for another 3 days.
Then get about 20 yellows and get all the bomb rocks over behind where the gravity jumper (Spring) is and use them to bring down the Black (9 Bombs) and White (6 Bombs) stone walls at base. Because tearing them down instead of the 2 small bridges will make the Pikmin carry everything straight back to base taking the shortest route. If you don't have 15 Bomb Rocks, just grab a few more near where the #1 Ionium Jet is, and if you still got like 3 or 4 to use, use em on the back gate around the corner where the fire geysers are.

Just finished Pikmin, I enjoyed the game greatly, although the game gave me some head scratches and mild irritation, I feel like this is one of the best games I’ve played, a masterpiece.

So if Olimar has a limited amount of oxygen, according to him about thirty days' worth, then I think it would've been pretty neat if he had some wacky hallucinations near the end of the game. Then again, he most likely restored some of his oxygen supply each time he'd vacate into space with the Pikmin in between each day, so maybe I'm being stupid.
