15 Years British Citizenship Plan & Ban On These Set Of Migrants Proposed

The video discusses the current trends in immigration and proposed changes to UK immigration policy led by Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch. The UK is experiencing significant population growth, primarily due to immigration, with projections indicating an increase from 67.6 million to 72.5 million between 2022 and 2032. This growth brings both opportunities and challenges, particularly in urban areas where demand for services such as schools and hospitals is rising. The proposed immigration reforms aim to extend residency requirements, tighten pathways to citizenship, impose economic contribution criteria, and introduce restrictions on benefits for migrants. These changes have sparked debate, with supporters arguing they will protect public resources while critics raise concerns about their fairness and feasibility. These proposals are still under discussion and require legislative approval.

Highlights
🌍 Population Growth: The UK’s population is projected to increase significantly due to immigration, highlighting the importance of managing this growth.
📈 Proposed Changes: Kemi Badenoch’s immigration proposals could double residency requirements and extend the pathway to citizenship to a total of 15 years.

🚫 Social Security Restrictions: Migrants who claim benefits or use social housing could be barred from indefinite leave to remain.
⚖️ Criminal Record Exclusions: Individuals with criminal records would be excluded from applying for indefinite leave to remain under the new proposals.
📊 Numerical Caps: A binding legal cap on the number of migrants allowed to settle in the UK is under consideration.
💬 Public Response: The proposed reforms have elicited mixed reactions, with supporters praising the focus on economic contribution and critics questioning their fairness.

ILR and citizenship must be based on the contributions made by one towards the UK economy through the NI and tax contributions. Not by the number of years they stayed here.

Such a weird proposal from a second generation immigrant. Hope one day she looks at the mirror and realise she isn’t white British and hope her parents came to the UK legally. Majority of skilled workers won’t come to the UK if this law will be passed.

I am a medical doctor and have just been in the UK for 3 years. The changes happening within the immigration space are just so overwhelming.

I live in the UK on a Tier-2 visa. I am not sure if I am entitled to "benefits" or "welfare". In fact, like everyone else on the same visa, I had to pay for my IHS surcharge (over GBP 3000) to access the broken NHS services. So I am not sure why Kemi Badenoch is MISLEADING people into believing that people coming from abroad LEGALLY are not PAYING tonnes to move to the UK in the first place. On top of that, we pay a significant amount of taxes to the UK economy. I am pretty sure if implemented, this would lead to another Brexit-like situation, for which local UK citizens voted thinking that their lives and opportunities would significantly improve if Brexit comes into effect (LOL).

UK is already a sinking ship and these rules, if imposed, would ensure the wreckage is never found.

UK needed immigrants since the middle ages to benefit the country. After emancipation act which abolished slavery they brought in people from India and China and most of the canals tunnels were built by immigrants from Holland. Major scientific inventions done by immigrants. USA is great because of intellectual immigrants and the people who migrated from Britain during middle ages. So I guess these shouldn't apply for immigrants who add value to the economy. The one who live in others taxes and the lazy people who abuse the benefits system should be targeted. Finally, even aboriginals are immigrants since iron age its been happening. So, we need to find more appropriate term rather than 'immigrant'.

These are the most unfair treatment for those coming here to reside here they have to wait for 15 years this is so crazy, who's gonna wait for this long, I don't think people are interested in coming to the UK anymore.

Hi Sarika, thank you so much for your content!

May I ask if these proposals get approved, how long will they take to come into effect?
And would they affect those visa holders retrospectively?

ILR in 5 years and citizenship after 12 months, seems soo good that it draws too much attention, so this is a move to stop that attraction.

Apart from 15 yrs stay and over 45% taxation conditions, other proposal does not sound so bad!
Also a realistic scenario which still exists in UK and is more common than people think it would not be, is the crime and threats with racism. The English people are very agressive and rude with people of other races and this is a fact not just a casual stereotype. So government needs to take some decisions to minimise this. Also one more discomforting thing happening in UK recently is street robbery. The occurrence have been very high in average, so ya police department is not that great in UK just bare that in mind, yes they are as worse if not more that of Indian police department!
So it's not like you can carefree live over there.
