With softwsre and hardware cutovers, they dont ever "flip a switch", they slowly add more and more load to ensure it doesnt fail. And if it does, that its not bearing the entire load. I doubt swift will quit, or go out of business. So its not going to be a single flip the switch moment. We need to be realistic. Ripple is already slowly chewing at the heels of swift. And i believe they will eventually eat an entire foot before Swift adopts a crypto platform so they can be competitive. But they will not just quit and throw their cards in. Thats not how war/business works.

Therefore it can be devalued.
It's not unlike fiat currency.

Swift does 5 trillion transactions a day currently. That's close to 2 quadrillion dollars a year. When they were at 1 quadrillion a year ago, they were projected to do 5 quadrillion dollars in tranfers for swift in five years. So its very possible for XRP to reach their max now 900 trillion tranfers a day in 5 years. Probably more like 10 percent which would be 500 trillion. Then who knows what type of updates XRP has. They may be able to handle half pf the amount swift will be at in transactions or more in five years.
