Many years ago, I was heartbroken to watch my favorite dish slide out of my hands and shatter on the floor of the kitchen. It was a simple dish but it held a lot of meaning to me and the memory of a dear friend. I found the most amazing woman at UPenn who was trained in the art of kintsugi and she restored my dish complete with gold, and now I have a new memory tied to the dish which is even more beautiful than when it was whole.

This may sound silly but someone broke into my beloved classic car. They broke off some of the plastic cowling that surrounds the ignition when they tried to start it. It's an irreplacable piece and I was so upset I cried. I decided recently to use it as my first practice kintsugi piece. Feels fitting for a Japanese car <3
