Another brilliant video from WSSA - it is great to hear an instructor say - don't try to carve. Too many are obsessed with carving and edging - hence the problem in steeps with many skiers. They have been told to push and edge (usually by pushing the knee in!) and catch 22 - more pushing and more edging simply make the problem worse - out of control, out of balance and entrenching bad habits. Great to hear that skidding isn't a dirty word after all! Thanks for great advice.

It's also great on super icy snow, like in the eastern US

Excellent, just what I'm looking for to break out of the intermediates and into steeps.

Very good video, wish it can include more exercises. I learnt this the hard way when I fell on steeps and 1 cool amercian dude showed me how to skid getting down on steeps slowly. It is just not that cool looking though LOL

I feel like I’m naturally good at doing this all the time, but struggle to carve.

Blending skills, Rotary, Pressure and edging... focused on rotary. .Back packs maintain their own rotary momentum resulting in compulsory rotation disrupting parallelogram/ geometric relationships between upper an lower body with compensatory movements.
