I'm really glad that you didn't let that "Monkey thief" scam you.. I'm Moroccan and I can tell you that they do that not only with foreigners tourists, but also with Moroccans.. so be careful when you go to those very touristic places. If you guys are still in Morocco, I recommend you to visiti Fes which is the spiritual capital of Morocco, and it has the first and oldest university in the world, also we have the biggest old town in the world!!

I'm Moroccan and can tell you that Marrakech is a very beautiful city but the biggest problem is the hassle with it's people. Their main source of income is tourism and some of them try to rip visitors off, like the monkey owner in the video who asked for 200Dh (€20) for a picture with his monkey. That guy is a thief.

Hi there, you are definitely not being charged too much. You need to appreciate that prices have gone up all over the world and Morocco has not had tourism for almost 2 years. The trousers and top you bought was a good quality and the price he gave you was correct. They are not trying to make the prices higher they are just trying to survive in this world where everything has gone up

Another great vid Yad .... Main thing to remember in that square ..DONT let them put the monkeys or snakes on you ...otherwise they will charge u for it ...just be polite buy firm and say NO ! .... In Arabic its - LA ....or KALLA

Marrakech is very special, an amazing city with a great history . About the prices in the souk, even moroccans are considered tourists. Marrakech s people have a special accent, so if you are moroccan from another city and you don't have the Marrakech accent you ll be charge like a tourist .. but less than if you were a foreigner of course ...
