How to Properly DRIFT in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

A few questions:
- This might be a dumb question, but is the steering when you are drifting continuous or discrete? I.e., does every joystick angle turn slightly differently, or does it "bucket" the drifting into one of three or four pre-determined angles?
- Is there a name for the type of drift when you push your joystick opposite to the turn to turn as widely as possible?
- Is the MT charging rate the only difference between soft drifting and neutral drifting? In other words, do you get the same (higher) vehicle speed?
- What is the point of delay drifting? Isn't the name kind of opposite to what it actually is?
- When you are charging a MT in mid-air, is there any visual indicator like the sparks you get on the ground? Does joystick angle matter like it does when you are drifting?

Hello! May I please ask you something? Can you please explain me how world record players can charge their turbo so fast without any wiggle drift in mario circuit 200cc? As you can see in mario circuit 150cc world record, world record players do wiggle drift when they pass the wiggle drift sections of mario circuit 150cc. However, in 200cc, it seems that they charge their turbo really fast without any wiggle drift in the wiggle drift sections of mario circuit. How can they do it? I know that it might be related to soft drift. However, when I try soft drift in those sections, my kart eventually goes inside(dirt) too much. I want to know why they don't go to dirt when they keep maintaining soft drift. In other words, I want to know how they can maintain constant lines(this is what I'm most curious) and fast turbo charging at the same time. I recently started mario kart. So I don't have much information about some techniques. If someone explains to me in detail, I'd sincerely appreciate it! Thank you so much!
