Sir Keir Starmer delivers first major speech of general election campaign

Sir Keir Starmer is due to deliver his first keynote speech of the general election campaign as he makes the case to voters that the Labour Party can be trusted.

He will say that there are "countless people who haven't decided how they’ll vote in this election", and appeal to them to back his "changed" party

I think Labour could be a lot more progressive but I also understand they need to win big first and that means not scaring the centre right too much. As soon as we have a government that isn’t literally actively making everything worse, we should see things start to get a lot better. Please can everyone not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Get the Tories out, give Labour a chance

Yes. We have a deplorable ancient medieval class system in this country with 7 levels of class (still). Starmer's knighthood really shows who he is. He should be fighting against the class system not joining it.

When I vote, i always look at the man or woman who as Prime Minister could lead us into battle, should the need arise, neither Sunak or Starmer are leaders, they are both weak, talentless, lack charisma, visionless, false, etc etc etc, It is a crying shame that a once great country has to decide whether to put one of these charlatans at the helm, I will not vote for the Tories or Labour and if Apathy was a political party they would get my tick in the box
