Old guy here. As a Chiefs fan, I think this is a good deal for them. No, he is not going to be a top receiver, maybe a 3 likely a 4. But the Chiefs don’t NEEd him to be great or fast. They want him to roam the middle, find soft spots in the zone, catch the ball, and be a possession receiver. Plus, he’s on a vet minimum deal. Yes, it’s a win-win for KC.

In addition to being a vet he is also very familiar with the offense. This makes him a possession receiver (4 or 5). This takes pressure off of Juju from having to be THE GUY on the offense and outside of that role is where he brings value.
My concern is that Hollywood is going to diva up the receiver room and not help Worthy develop. There is room for only 1 diva pass catcher, Kelce whose down year is 900+ yards in the regular season and 330+ yards in the post season. That is why he is the best TE ever in the game and a 1st ballot HOF when he retires. (And for your Gronk lovers out there, Kelce and Gronk are the same age and came into the NFL at the same time, but only the GOAT is still playing).

I didn’t want JuJu to leave KC in the first place. Glad to have him back. When you go from Mahomes and Andy Reid to Mac Jones/Zappy and a crappy offense you’re gonna have a bad season…I’m sure with Mahomes throwing to him he’ll have a much better season

I’m a Chiefs fan. I believe the only reason he’s here is the injury to Hollywood. That said, he’s an asset and a bargain. No matter what role he plays it’s a net gainer for an already stacked team.

Juju Smith-Schuster was never very fleet-footed and Father Time has paid him a premature visit. At this stage of Juju's career, he's just a complimentary piece of KC's offense.

I will say, tbf, Juju has never played poorly. He’s been injured, and since has had one of the top 3 worst receivers in the league. So I think with Patty he can easily clear 1000 yds again, it just depends on how generous Pat wants to be.

A great pickup by the Chiefs and a chance to show up and show out for JuJu. A win-win for both sides. And should KC pull off the 3-peat, JuJu would be forever linked to that historic team.

It certainly can't hurt the Chiefs. With their cap situation in the orange to borderline red for the foreseeable future, any WR they can get for cheap is nice. And Juju is still talented. Just not a WR1. The one concern I have is his health. Can he play a full season? One thing is certain. Chiefs got a good deal, Juju still gets his money, and the road to a threepeat begins.
