Starmer says UK will face Trump tariffs with 'calm head'

Sir Keir Starmer spoke to business bosses including AstraZeneca's Pascal Soriot, BAE's Charles Woodburn and Jaguar Land Rover's Richard Molyneux in Downing Street this morning.

He said: "Nobody wins in a trade war, that is not in our national interest.

"We have a fair and balanced trade relationship with the US.

"Negotiations on an economic prosperity deal, one that strengthens our existing trading relationship - they continue and we will fight for the best deal for Britain."

It's a 10% tariff each way. What is the issue? So it's ok for us to tax the States 10%, but they can't tax us. It could be worse. If Starmer had his way, we would be back in the EU and getting a 20% tariff.
