Great reaction - and you are absolutely right, BABYMETAL is metal that makes you smile, it makes you happy.
'Karate' was the lead single for their second album. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - it is also about always moving forwards.

In the video the figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that).

They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible. Moa catching the fly was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time.

This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards".

You are definitely not alone by saying Babymetal's music makes you happy. They will do that to you every time. Even when the song is a little darker.

BabyMetal definitely makes The One feel Joy. Smiles are a major side effect. As much of a megafan as I am, I rarely just...listen to BabyMetal. I prefer to watch them. I don't have a BM playlist I listen to while I paint or craft or anything. I don't listen to them in the car. But I do consume some sort of BabyMetal almost every single day because it just makes me happy and sets a good tone for whatever comes after. Early in my day, I usually check and see what reactions have been posted because I enjoy watching the joy they bring to others, too. Then after I get my fix, I go about my day. Glad you enjoyed this one. There's so much goodness you haven't seen yet, and we love watching people's journey down the Fox Hole. 🤘🦊🤘

hey man, cool to see you're back, shout-out to everyone who requested this.
You got it all right about the positive message here, if you look for the lyrics it'll be totally clear for you. But one of the BM magic is to go beyond languages expressing the meaning of the lyrics with the dance choreo, that's the Mikiko-Metal job, she's a notorious sensei behind other fantastic and famous jpop group like Perfume, she was also choose for the Tokyo Olympic ceremony, but unfortunately she couldn't make it.

This song came out in 2016, is part of their 2nd album, and along with _"Road Of Resistance"_ is one of their strongest weapon to drag metal fans into their music. You will notice some differences between 1st and 2nd album and another jump and direction on 3rd album.
I came to know this group by a friend recommendation but regardless the way you know them, is always Fox God mysterious way. -notacult-
If you look closed into girl's pupil eyes you'll see against who are they fighting.
Like always, the MV and studio album version is only glimpse, BabyMetal shines and show all their potential and energy on the stage, so try this one live at Download 2016 in front of 50k metalheads ;)

A couple of days ago they released "10 Babymetal Budokan" DVD/BD a series of live concerts celebrating their 10 years early this year, with 10 amazing live concerts, trust me, is a whole another experience.
Before you jump into 3rd album try some more songs from first and 2nd album, like _Catch Me If You Can_ live at Budokan 2014 (there's a sub version here en YT safe to react), or live Legend I or Legend 1997.

Great reaction! My favorite performance of this song was when BABYMETAL performed on the big stage for the first time at the UK Download 2016 music festival in front of a huge crowd...and it rained. You can find that video here on youtube. 🤘🦊🤘

As you said Babymetal is metal which makes you happy/smile. But their is definitely Babymetal music which will get you fined because you are driving to fast !
It's easily one of their best MVs.
"Their should be more Babymetal in Sweden", well... Babymetal is sort of the Abba of metal, so I guess that makes sense ;-)
Their really did go to Sweden ones, they were in Arenan/Fryshuset, Stockholm, in the month before covid: Feb. 3 2020.
All the way back in 2014 at least 1 of the Sabaton members tried to get Babymetal to Sabaton Open Air in August that year, but Babymetal (possibly in part because they are still in school) could not make the scheduling work, Babymetal did have their first world tour in June 2014, which included Europe.
While we are on the subject of Sabaton, they opened for Babymetal in Japan at arena shows in 2019. Including the Halloween show. The other bands that opened those shows was: Galactic Empire (a Star Wars music band). People came dresses as Babymetal, Darth Vader or a tank, etc. :-)
Babymetal also recorded a song with Joakim Brodén around that time which is on the third album: Oh Majinai ft. Joakim Brodén

Nice reaction. This song has a lot going on in the video. The ones in white is themselves. they're teaching themselves to go on even when your broke on the floor. Add in that together they are even stronger. Shown when they help each other up, then walk forward together. A great empowering song. Most Babymetal songs have a positive message to them. Their songs are full of good energy. They do have away of making folks smile. Babymetal songs in general have a lot going on in them. Years later you may still be finding something new in them. So it's a good thing they've been around for over 10 yrs now. Plenty of time to catch up with all their songs. Babymetal works hard on all their songs. In general it takes a couple of years between album releases. Su the lead singer will sing no song before it's time or until at lease she feels ready to sing it. It's just part of what makes them great. That and their genre bending, blending, blurring song writing technic. Then add in for good measure the Kawaii factor. Put it all together and you get the metal genre now known as Kawaii metal. Babymetal's specialty as they were the first ones to do it. Fun times ahead for you. I would say, the girls fight their inner good to become finally evil. 'Cause karate offers both direction: It's the way to overcome one's self, but to what ends, that is not defined by karate itself. So, you can perfect yourself to become a better evil. That would be totally in accordance with the philosophy of karate.

Since it seems like you want to do more BabyMetal, I will give you a few hints on their most blocked videos.

Most of their official MV are usually safe to react to, with few exceptions: "Gimme Chocolate", "Megitsune", "Karate", "Road of Resistance" live in Japan and "No Rain No Rainbow" live at Legend S are NOT safe and require a logo on top for not having them blocked.

Their festival performances are usually safe, and the best one are "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" at Sonisphere 2014, "Karate" at Download 2016 and "Distortion" at Download 2018.
Their live performances are awesome, and any from 2014 or earlier are pretty safe! The 2 best show are the Budokan in 2014 and Legend 1997 in 2013. So if you react to any song from the first album, you can have a pretty good live performance from one of these 2 shows.
Any live performance from 2015 or later will most likely get blocked.

There is a youtube channel called BabyMetal Reactor Resource that has a video with links to really good performances with already a transparent logo on top, that are usually really safe to react to.

There's a good reason this was the featured single from the second album. : )
They made a lot of friends among Metal bands by playing a bunch of festivals, and this song converted quite a few.
As is usually the case, the riffs are heavier live.
Like a lot of BABYMETAL songs, this one has a positive message about facing life's challenges.
