The tariff plan will evidently lead to high inflation, the high inflation is a significant reason why most retirees have sleepless nights. The increase in prices of everyday items puts them at risk of running out of money. As prices rise, the amount of money retirees can withdraw from their retirement savings also increases

Consumers prefer to buy goods with cheap prices and only Chinese goods qualify for that regardless how high the tariffs are. A similar winter jacket made in America costs $145.00. The Chinese equivalent costs $79.00. With a tariff of 55% on the original price of $19.00 the importer paid, the increased price is now $99. It's still cheaper than the American made one. You decide on which to buy if you are the every day working person.

With the tariff aims at China, America is doing the same thing it did that forced Japan into the 2nd WW, with Japan it was cutting their oil supplies, now for China it's tariff's. China is dependent on it's exports, curtailing this would put China at enormous risk domestically which could force them to do the unthinkable, in the past wars have started with minimum cause. Without the trade, China may have little to lose but throw the entire world into more the world never learns and it's always about greed.

China had had been invaded and partially occupied by Westerners + Japanese from 1900 to 1945 is now ready to fight back on whatever unfair sanctions or tariffs.
They then had almost had been reduced to destitutions and some poor Chinese had had no food but to eat tree leaves and barks.
Americans may not hv to resort to that stage but high tariffs are invariably bringing high inflation and hapless Americans might hv to reduce their meal numbers.
