In this video, I introduce and review my personal 2020 Toyota Tundra Platinum. I touch on some of the mods and uses for this particular truck and contrast with other models such as the TRD Pro and the 3rd Gen 2022+ models.

I just bought a used 21 Limited 4x4 Tundra. So glad I bought the 5.7 V-8. I’ve been Reading about lots of problems with the new twin turbos. There is an advantage to buying a vehicle with a long reliable track record. I plan on keeping it for at least 10 years. Your truck looks great!! Can’t wait to see what else you do with it.

I have no issues with drone on the TRD exhaust. Been great for me, whether highway cruising or towing.

2007 Double Cab Limited TRD. 260, 000 miles. No issues that I couldn't fix myself for nearly no $$$. Wouldn't shift into 4-HI. Timing Chain tensioner not tensioning. $85 fix, but labor intensive. Starter failed. Antennae broke. That's it. Oh, and mechanic forgot to put an O-ring on oil filter cap drain plug and I lost 7 quarts of oil over 500 miles (TX to KS). Caught it before I lost the last quart. No issues or metal in the oil. Amazing. Stock shocks and windshield. 17 years old, looks nearly new and runs like when I bought it. I will never own another truck but a 2nd Gen Tundra. And since this one can go another 740, 000 miles, I may not ever need one.

19Pro here. Your ride is nice btw. Felt like sharing my mods: I've got the interior chrome delete kit, linex coated running boards, air ride suspension to complement the fox shocks, pedal commander, back rack, LTE/5G booster, 11inch Pioneer touchscreen and sitting on Toyo Open Country 35s. She's a beauty! Oh almost forgot, the best mod imo was the $100 I spent on the wireless charging center console, also only took 10mins to install. Thanks for the video, keep it real!

This is almost identical to the truck I just bought. I recently purchased a 2021 Platinum Tundra in wind chill pearl. Great review and great truck!

Nice build! Love my 2020 Pro. The only thing I wish it had is blind spot monitoring. Never seen that Roadmaster Active Suspension. I added Timbrens to my stock Pro suspension, and it works well.

Thanks for the video.
This is what I’m looking for; a white platinum with aftermarket upgrades!

Ordered a 2021 Platinum in the windchill Pearl. I ordered mine June 15th of 21 received it at my dealer August 8th of 21. I was on the fence on the trd pro vs the platinum. I decided on the platinum for same reason as you I wanted the platinum interior and the better upgrades inside. I also wanted the platinum as it has better towing ability than the TRD Pro. I have also added the HD RAS and a revolver x4s bed cover. I love how it sits flush but rolls up for full bed access when you need it. Great looking truck you got there.

Great Video ... I initially wanted a 3rd Gen Tundra, however with dealer markups, availability, and now technical
/quality issues I'm glad I bought my used '21 SR5 4x4 CM in Super White. The truck came with VP Convenience Extra Value Package that includes all the driver aid/safety stuff and 38 gallon tank. She even came with brand new KO2's. I really never needed a full sized truck as our '03 Tacoma still does pretty much everything (truck related) we need to do until we got a 24 ft travel trailer.

Man I love this Tundra but she's mainly used for recreational purposes so the mods I did were to compliment towing.
Obviously the first thing I wanted to do was lose that nose down attitude but the owners manual stated that it's set like that for towing so I left it alone. I added Goodyear airbags, TRD rear swaybar, Trans Cooler, ScanGaugeII for temps, dashcam, Cat Shield, trailer TPMS, and lastly towing clip on mirrors that really are not needed.

I wanted to finish her with the TRD or Borla dual exhaust but It'm taking note on your comment on droning!

Thanks again for great video and subscribed.

My 2017 is a blessing. Likewise got it in 2019, with 9k miles on it, super good deal I got.

Great setup, looks beautiful and that powertrain will outlive your grandkids. Remains to be seen if the 3rd gen will stand the test of time like the now legendary 5.7 does

I just bought a 2018 tundra, and I think the second generation may be the best…..👍🏻👍🏻

Nice to see a truck with the tires not sticking out of the fenders like everyone else on the road.

Love this model, i have a 22 third gen and looking to go back to a second gen. Fuel milage is not all that much better
and def alot cheaper and less solid feeling to it..

I have 19 PRO. Chose it for 1) The suspension and also liked the looks, wheels, and skid plate. I love the Platinum and the 1794 for the full grain leather, heated seats, and memory seat but the suspension was more important to me and I am skeptical about how easy a fix upgrading the suspension can be. I don’t have a shop that specializes in upgrading Tundras near me and have had negative experiences trying to “upgrade” the suspension on other vehicles. The stock suspension on the other Tundra trims of this generation IMO are poor.

The TRD exhaust is great and adds to the character for sure.

Overall, I love the vehicle for everything except parking and MPG of course. It is one of the best vehicles I have owned for long distance highway traveling. I am able to stay behind the wheel in comfort for more hours than any vehicle I can think of.

18 DC cav blue. Love it. Windshiel wipers are the worst part no doubt. Always hard to get right.

Bought 5month ago, 21' Sequoia platinum, in white blizzard pearl and redrock leather. Best SUV i had in my life, was searching for it the whole Florida, couldn't find the right one, or either overpriced, bought in Maryland. So roomy and soft, I use K&N air filter and i have 15mpg in city 19mpg highway, somewhat good increase from stock air filter. Will also plan to keep it for next 3-4years then probably jump on Tahoe or Yukon. 3rd gen sequoia is so messed up, with 3rd row and all the shelfs, and entire 3rd row is joke now.

You got an awesome tundra, this is what i would buy as well if i was searching for a good 18-21 gen tundra. Sweet wheels though.

Nice truck. I'm looking for a second gen sr5 double cab with the trd off road package but prices are still too high for me.

Nice truck! Love the wheel and tire package. I own a 2020 TRD pro and I gotta say, the 2.5 gen wins over the new gen no matter the trim IMO. They are simple, beautiful and reliable! TRD pro vs Platinum?..going to have to go with the pro for the win lol 😆 but I am biased haha
