The amount of robberies being 100% successful (meaning no apprehensions and no stolen good recovery) is about 5-10%. Considering the fact that all the paintings they stole had reached the value of up to half a billion dollars in the 90s, The Isabella Steward Gardner Museum theft might actually be the biggest robbery of all time.

I’ll never understand art heists.

You can only make money on stolen art if you find a black market buyer. The only reason you’d ever want to buy art is to display it somewhere such as in your home and if everyone knows that that piece was stolen they’re just gonna go “hey, this dude has that stolen famous art piece in his house” it seems way too hard to actually make a profit off of it

We can appreciate that Zack gave us their faces in the video so we can get the $10M.

For those who want to know more
The Gardner Museum art heist was the theft of 13 works of art from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston on March 18, 1990. It's the largest unsolved art theft in history. Over the course of 81 minutes, they stole 13 irreplaceable works of art, including masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Degas. Despite extensive investigations and a substantial reward, the stolen artwork, valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, has never been recovered, making it one of the most notorious and enduring unsolved art thefts in history.

This Heist is actually very complicated! I mean it in and of itself is simple. However the background behind it is interesting. This art heist happened during one of the biggest mafia wars in the North East. The paintings were incredibly rare and considered extremely expensive. Rare items such as these could be used as bargaining chips for a multitude of things; such as getting a member out of jail, getting gangs to join their side on the turf war, or bargaining with the other side for hostage switches. My great uncle was personally involved in this case and my dad raves on and on about it since it was the last case his uncle got to work on before getting shot during one of the shoot outs. There's a lot more names and events that could be fit in, but it would take forever to type. All i can say is i definitely recommend looking into this case if you're into crime cases!

Then they ripped off their disguises to reveal black and white striped shirts, pulled on black ski masks, stashed the stolen goods in a bag thrown over their shoulder and tiptoed away in sync
